ghost

there is no pain like being betrayed
by the person you loved the most
the person you moved across the country with
the one you told everything to
who was there for so many firsts
the same man who kneeled before you
and asked you for your hand
in front of your family and friends
together until the end
the worst part is still loving him through it all
but knowing that you have to leave
knowing the future you pictured is gone
the person you thought you knew never existed
and you’ll never know him again
